Deceptive Sizing

I've bought Hilfiger brand products over the years and have been satisfied with them and their quality though most are made overseas. This wallet is made in India.



But don't go buy this wallet if you think you can fill it up. My wife bought this for me as a replacement. I use only one wallet (as opposed to some men who carry two a billfold with pictures and then a second for all the credit cards) and I fill it up. This wallet is slim and small. The one I have which is exactly like the one in the photo here also has a picture section.



So tonight I went through the process of taking everything out of the old worn out wallet and transferring it all to the new Hilfiger wallet. Seemed like it was fine until I tried to close the tri-folds over each other to put in my pocket. Guess what? They won't close. Fill the credit card slots as they are positioned put a couple of photos and your SS card in the picture section your ID and a few bills and the wallet will not close. It looks great EMPTY but once you put everything in it it's totally useless. And for $30? I even took the picture carrier out and it still won't close!



Now until I can get to the store and buy a real wallet that has plenty of capacity or order one of the "hipster" wallets here on Amazon I've got to take half of the stuff out of the Hilfiger wallet and put into a second wallet to carry around. Not a happy camper here.



So though I've always been happy with the brand my word of warning is "try before you buy". If you fill every slot that this wallet has good luck folding it and getting it in your pocket!More detail ...

Great!
I haven't had it long, but I love the large bill area, and the multiple card holders as well as the pattern woven into it. I think the leather is great and soft and doesn't feel bulky in my pocket.

Nice Wallet
This wallet is very nice. The leather is not too soft, which is good because I hate wallets that have leather that feels like cloth almost. The color is accurate based on the picture. This wallet holds a lot! When completely stuffed, it still folds nicely. I expected this wallet to create an uncomfortable bulge to sit on. Surprisingly, it does not. Comfortable in the back pocket. Great wallet for those who wish to carry a lot of cards. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I wish it had a divided currency section instead of just one.

Breaking it in
Just got it today - The shipping was slow considering it sat around for numerous days before finally finishing its trip (I don't blame amazon for this.), but it came in a nice little box completely ready to use. It looks nice, feels kind of nice, and definitely has plenty of slots, but it has two down sides.

1. it's pretty darn stiff with just my drivers license and a few cards, but with time it'll soften up and bend more easily.

2. While it has two sets of three slots for cards, I keep finding that the bottom most card slot more than overlaps the second card slot so any card I put into it immediately almost hides and pretty much dominates the card behind it meaning I have to remove the card in the bottom most slot before getting the middle card. I'm not sure if this is intentional or accidental, but it strikes me as being odd and a bit irritating...

I wouldn't say these things would have discouraged me from buying the product, but I do think it's something to note if someone is looking for a nice soft flexible wallet that's super easy to access (because this wallet is primarily the exact opposite). This really is a very thick, sturdy, and old fashioned wallet for those who want their items to be especially secured within their pocket.

Know what you're looking for, I suppose!
